In 2006, ADV Films acquired the license to Sgt. Frog in the US and originally planned on releasing it straight to DVD, but then decided to get it on a TV network instead. Nickelodeon expressed interest on airing the series, but it was never aired due to ADV's bankruptcy.
In 2008, the English license to the series was transferred over to FUNimation Entertainmet who released their version of the series straight to DVD in 2009, and has yet to get it on a TV network in the US.
FUNimation really needs to get the Sgt. Frog dub on either Nicktoons or Cartoon Network so it can become a lot more well known in the US. If more people in the US know about the series' existence through either networks and enjoy it, the DVDs could end up selling better than before! That way, FUNimation can dub more episodes and possibly complete the series!
Sgt. Frog is on TV in other countries, so why not the US? It doesn't need to continue to be only on DVD with no TV network in the US airing it.
