Windows 8 is just a disaster. I have had it for 6 months and even after fixing some of the fixable issues, it has proven still largely unusable.
1. Many software programs I bought are now useless on 8 because many companies are not supporting it.
2. I consider myself flexible, but the lack of a start menu is a huge problem, I find myself using a windows 7 computer instead of trying to figure out how to get to buried, but very needed features.
3. I consider Windows 8 a complete loss, not only because of the initial investment, but because I will eventually buy a copy of Windows 7 and stop using 8 forever. I demanded Microsoft give me a copy of 7 instead of 8, like a straight-across trade, but they refused and wanted to charge me.
I am even considering abandoning Windows altogether for screwing up so badly and refusing to remedy the problem.
Microsoft must either separate Windows 8's mobile and desktop or give us the option to accept Windows 7 (because not all of us had the Windows 7 disc before upgrading) without charge.
