This petition was created in order to convince Baltimore Orioles (Major League Baseball) majority owner Peter G. Angelos to sell his rights to the franchise.

Ever since he bought the Baltimore Orioles in 1993 for $173 million, majority owner Peter G. Angelos has done nothing but diminish the glory of a once proud franchise. It has become evident, in front office and personnel decisions, that Angelos no longer cares for baseball or the Orioles.

Take for instance the relocation of the former Montreal Expos to Washington, D.C. (a large fan base for the Orioles). Angelos, fearing his attendance totals would drastically drop, demanded collateral should the Expos (now the Nationals) move to D.C. Much to the chagrin of MLB, Angelos' demands were met. Should he ever decide to sell the Orioles, the sale price would be set at minimum of $363 million. He was also given control of the Nationals' broadcast rights, restricting all of the Nationals games from a Baltimore-Washington network, Comcast SportsNet, causing a legal battle between Comcast and the Orioles.

This is not the only interference made by Angelos that has caused uproar in the fan base and in Major League Baseball. Many professional baseball players have refused to negotiate with Baltimore, making the fans angry and restless at the prospect of an 8th straight losing season.

He's angered fans, media, and all of baseball with his antics and demand for a constant source of income, which has caused him to give up on this baseball team.

We, the undersigned, want Baltimore Orioles (Major League Baseball) majority owner Peter G. Angelos to sell his rights to the franchise.
