SECURING FREEDOM FROM OUR OWN POLICE

With the safety of our students at risk on a daily basis, we as residents of Georgia State feel that we deserve the right to feel secure, respected, and disenfranchised of profiling from our own police staff. Many of our student body, families, and even faculty have expressed concern about the troubles facing our police department including: profiling, lack of urgency, irrelevant questioning/ assumption,and the inability of empathy and concern for the dangerous situations which some of us has been accustomed too. We ask with this petition for the university to understand our concerns and our reasoning as to why we feel strongly about these rising issues on our campus.
