#Local Government
Target:
Coburg west/Pascoe vale south community
Region:
Australia

Concerns around the proposed PTV Sub-station development of 211 Reynard street are as follows:

- ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION FIELD EMITTED causing health issues to our families
- Adjoining property (209) built on boundary giving absolutely no safe-clearance to sub-station (health and noise concerns)
- Local primary school within 100 metres with young children walking past daily
- DEVALUATION on property prices
- NOISE concerns with high concentration of electrical equipment and cooling requirements 24/7
- SAFETY - access concerns with on-going maintenance of sub-station and very close proximity to local primary school and busy street corner (parking already limited and any maintenance trucks would cause significant hazards in terms of blind-spots and width of road to navigate safely)
- Concerns around exemptions to council by-laws for initial development and for future upgrades
- Heritage considerations with street facade dating back > 100 years
- Transparency concerns with limited notice and consult with community conducted during ‘holiday period’ even though property was acquired > 12mths ago

BUILD SUB-STATION IN AN APPROPRIATE POSITION AWAY FROM RESIDENTIAL HOMES IN VACANT PARKLANDS!!

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders and local council representatives to act now to keep our community safe, healthy and peaceful by opposing a power sub-station in such close proximity to residential homes and Coburg West Primary School.
