Although the scientific debate from the health risks involved in living near electric distribution substations is still ongoing, but some studies have proved increased risks for many diseases and illnesses, including cancer.
There are undisputed effects on residential property values when living in close proximity to electricity distribution substation. Either near high voltage overhead power lines or distribution substations.
We do understand that continued growth requires a demand for such expansion. However, the risks far outweigh the benefits. With the hundreds of acres available in Cyberjaya that do not border a residential community, we see that there exists other options. We strongly oppose electricity distribution substation in such close proximity to where we live and where our children play.
We, the undersigned, call on the Sepang Municipal Council and Tenaga Nasional Berhad to stop the PMU project and look for others location which is far form residential community.
