Burke High School is a 104 years old TRADITIONAL PUBLIC NON-CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL located in downtown Charleston, S.C.
There are "charter based organized groups of citizens" who are trying to turn Burke into a charter school. The people of this group have NO CHILDREN ATTENDING BURKE.
Burke is the ONLY PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL on the Peninsula/Downtown of Charleston, S.C.
The BURKE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, PARENTS, ALUMNUS , SUPPORTERS and COMMUNITY are asking for your assistance in keeping BURKE a TRADITIONAL NON-CHARTER PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL.
All who believe that BURKE is NOT BROKEN but in need of SUPPORT and TRUE CONCERN for its present day students as well as the future students are called to RAISE YOUR VOICE.
Please sign this petition to KEEP this "HISTORICAL TREASURE", A TRADITIONAL PUBLIC NON-CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL AND KEEP IT IN THE HANDS OF THE BURKE COMMUNITY.
