Research from RMT Union shows that the government has amended its guidance on ticket office opening hours which would allow rail operators to close ticket offices such as the one at Tulse Hill Station.
Staff in ticket offices play a vital role in assisting disabled customers and those who struggle with automated ticket machines. They also provide a visible presence , making customers feel safer and deterring antisocial behaviour and harassment.
Closing the office or reducing its hours would result in job losses and compromise customer accessibility and safety.
As local councillors we have launched this campaign to keep Tulse Hill ticket office open.
We, the undersigned call on Southern Rail not to close, or reduce the hours of operation of the ticket office in Tulse Hill Station.
