The EPD has received a complaint from a neighborhood resident about our Glass Recycling Bin placed on Tai Ping Shan Street (out of all things). The Bin is a courtesy by the non-profit and privately run organization Greenglass.org.hk, who have been doing a great job at initiating and promoting glass recycling in Hong Kong.
In order to save this Bin, and continue recycling all our waste glass, we need to prove to the EPD that this Bin is not only helping the community in Sheung Wan but serves a REAL purpose of environmental protection, and for this we need all the support of the neighborhood and beyond.
Kindly help us to sign this petition, we need LOTS of signature!

Dear EPD HKSAR,
Glass is 100% recyclable. Apparently, only 10% of glass in HK is recycled, which means 90% of glass ends up in our landfills as waste.
We would like to contribute to the community by providing a Glass recycling Bin (managed and exchanged weekly by greenglass.org.hk) in Sheung Wan, which could be shared among the local businesses, residents, and ourselves.
The Bin is placed on Old Kat Cheung Street, a small back alley of Tai Ping Shan Street, and it is currently placed in a discreet and non-intrusive way. The same street is also used as a car parking area. We therefor would like to submit this proposal, along with the neighborhood resident's support, to permanently place the Glass recycling Bin in any designated nearby space, for the benefit of the environment and the community.
