A country road intersection is also a school bus drop-off. If that doesn’t sound alarming then picture this, picture your future self-having children, and your precious babies are walking along a street that ranges from moving tractors to speeding sports cars. There’s no warning signs or speed limits around.
According to Child Safety Alert, 107 children were killed and over 5000 were seriously injured as they were crossing the road, and 191 children were killed in all road accidents as of Friday September 9, 2016.
Without warning signs, or speed limits near this pick-up/drop-off those children are moments away from an accident to happen.
One of Idaho’s required funds is to pay for Pupil Transportation, not only that but, it says here “Safe Environment Provisions”. I understand that some of their funds they redeem through taxation among the states, but as the people of the local community WE are the ones paying for those taxes. We don’t want to be paying for a precarious school bus drop-off/pick-up.
We need to support the safe environment provisions. We, as a community, need to remunerate some of our funds towards the United States Department of Transportation, so they can implement road signs and speed limits within this location, as a prevention and protection for the children towards future accidents.
