Our small provincially inspected abattoirs are being closed because of regulations that are meant for industrial farming and have no place in the local food movement.
Our right to have local food raised and processed in a healthy and humane way is being threatened by this. These abattoirs are an important part of the local food movement.
We the farmers, meat processors and consumers choosing health by buying local food products, call on the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to take action to save the small abattoirs across Ontario.
