Rydalmere Public School OHSC has been issued a notice for closure! We cannot let this happen! Our children deserve a safe and fun place to be cared for before and after school - and as parents we deserve to have this service provided for our children so we can remain employed and contribute to society.
The closure of this service will have a devastating impact on the children, their families, the school and the wider community as a whole.
Rydalmere is currently one of the fasted growing suburbs in Sydney in terms of population - the need for before and after school care for our children is only going to grow.
The Department of Education is being extremely short-sighted, and has insisted on closure due to low enrollment numbers. This is absolutely ridiculous! With the school's enrolments in 2017 being the highest yet - with the need for 2 Kindergarten classes - this service is more important than ever!
We, the undersigned, call on The Department of Education to extend the current license agreement for Rydalmere Public School OHSC, and keep the centre open for the benefit of our children, their families, the school and the wider community.
