Save Our Community Garden

We respectfully ask that the City of Hollywood and Pinnacle Development include the existing Hollywood Community Garden, an 8 year long community project, in the proposed Senior Rental Development called ‘Peacefield’. The vacant City land is 5 acres and the Community Garden comprises only 1 acre. The Community Garden should remain as a community benefit which brings community together with senior residents for the purpose of beautification, education, recreation, and nutrition. The Community Garden could be counted as part of the 30% required green space and replace landscape plans for sod, etc. The monies used to pay the land are CDBG funds as Is the bonus paid to Pinnacle by the City of Hollywood to help Pinnacle acquire the tax credit to move forward with the project. There should be a benefit to the Citizens of our LMI area as a whole. Without additional cost we ask for the Community Garden to be part of the project plans moving forward.
