Due to Massive cuts in funding, our Youth Services program is set to be cut from 100's of schools in the LAUSD.
This means that 1,000's of kids, as well as parents, will no longer have access to FREE after school enrichment, free snack, supervised activities, or free sports programs.
Many parents depend on the services offered through Youth Services while they are at work. What will happen if they no longer have access to this program, and their children do not have anywhere to stay until they get out of work?
This program is essential to the development of our children. According to research, children who participate in after school programs, generally perform better in school and in standardized testing.
Youth Services also provides FREE sports programs, that for many underprivileged children/families , serves as the cornerstone for building strong self esteem and character.
Our children deserve to dream, this program is where many of those dreams begin.
We, the undersigned, call on the Local District Board Members to effectively represent our communities and save our Beyond the Bell- Youth Services programs!
