The Post Office announced plans on 19 Feb to close the Post Office at 29 Orford Road as part of its London Area Plan. Residents have until 2nd April to oppose the closure before it takes effect.
The united local community is campaigning against the decision and have launched a petition that we will deliver to the Post Office opposing this closure.
We, the undersigned, believe that the Post Office at 29 Orford Road, Walthamstow is a vital resource for local residents and businesses and that the alternative post offices on Wood street and Lea Bridge road are too far away, especially for elderly and vulnerable residents.
The Post Office at 29 Orford road plays a central part in the life of Walthamstow village. Not only does it provides a vital service to the local community but also gives cohesion to an area where neighbourhood living is highly valued.
We call on Post Office Ltd to keep the Post Office at 29 Orford Road open and invest in its future.
