East Ayrshire Council have proposed to cut Burns Bairns funding from the next school year, saving them a total of £12800. This could ultimately mean Burns Bairns will no longer be and all children will attend Mauchline Primary School. EAC state that they intend to increase numbers at the school to 40/40 instead of the current 30 but the Care Commision have confirmed no application has been received from EAC.
The decision was due to be made on 24th March but has been delayed. We do not as yet have a further date for this decision to be made.
This has serious implications for our children and community.
