According to the American Library Association, the White House's new budget plans to eliminate Library funding for FY 2021. Their proposal would eliminate the Institute of Museum and Library Services and decrease funding for other library-eligible education programs. This proposal would also hinder opportunities to serve veterans, underemployed Americans, small businesses, and literacy. This proposal dismisses the value of America's libraries.
By signing this petition, I am urging members of Congress to protect library funding for FY 2021. I also urge members of Congress to visit your local library and see why libraries deserve your support.
