The NSW Government announced in May 2012 it plans to relocate an unspecified number of the 600 WorkCover jobs currently in Gosford back to Sydney.
This will create chaos for those workers and their families. Just 10 years ago the-then government encouraged WorkCover staff to move to the coast. It even offered financial assistance to do so.
This time there will be no financial assistance to relocate back to Sydney. Central Coast staff affected by the plan will have to pay for the move.
The Central Coast economy needs to retain government jobs. The Premier, Barry O'Farrell, needs to keep jobs on the coast.
We the undersigned citizens of NSW respectfully request that the 600 WorkCover jobs currently located in Gosford remain there for the foreseeable future.
