Halfway Home Dog Rescue has been running since 2006. It was started by a dedicated individual who wanted to make a difference to the dogs on death row and give them a chance of a life beyond the concrete walls and the ultimate death sentence of the dog pounds.

In the region of 2,000 dogs have been rescued and re-homed and the rescue centre is the out of hours contact for all of the strays in the Newark and Sherwood district. Halfway Home Dog Rescue is a very loving and well run concern and all of the dogs are kept in very clean kennels with big runs for them to play in. There is a dedicated army of helpers who ensure the dogs are cuddled, loved and walked and ultimately placed in caring homes that are suitable for both new dog and new owner.

What will become of the dogs on death row - are they to face a horrible lonely death when they could have been saved, loved and re-homed?

We, the undersigned, call upon the NSDC to keep the Halfway Home Dog Rescue OPEN and able to continue to give dogs on death row a chance of a loving home. These dogs face the death penalty through no fault of their own and are beautiful animals deserving of a happy life.

Please do not stop this wonderful opportunity for them. We also believe that this rescue centre is exactly the kind of place that is needed to help the local strays find their owners and if not they are extremely well placed to find a new home.
