American Idol is being cancelled due to the growing popularity of the rival series The Voice. However, American Idol has existed for much longer and has made countless stars in music, television, film, and even Broadway, and is an iconic piece of modern pop culture.
While I do enjoy The Voice, fewer careers have spawned from it until more recent seasons. In addition, the two programs have no conflict, as, American Idol currently airs on Thursdays, while The Voice airs on Mondays and Tuesdays.
I believe the two shows can continue to coexist.
By signing this petition, I state that I do not want American Idol to end.
