Over the past two seasons we have grown increasingly frustrated at the England Coaching Set-up, particularly with the head coach Brian Ashton.

Brian Ashton has proved himself to be a poor leader, a bad decision maker and allows personal preferences to stand in the way of picking the best side for our country.

The poor leadership and lack of vision was demonstrated by the senior players en masse complaining following the end of the world cup.

As for decision making, at the time of writing we are now 4 matches into the Six Nations and Ashton insists on picking players ie. Ian Balshaw who he has a personal history and preference for but who consistently underperform and who are far from being the best in their position in the Country.

The England Team should not be held to ransom in this way.

We, the undersigned, do hereby petition Rob Andrew and the RFU to remove Brian Ashton from the role of Head Coach for the England Rugby Team.

We firmly believe that our great rugby nation would be far better served through a different coach and coaching set-up.

We have grown intensely frustrated at his lack of leadership as a coach, and the manner in which he is selecting the England team based on personal preferences and petty feuds instead of on merit.

As such, we believe that the England Team is not a representation of the strength in depth of English Rugby.
