It has recently come to our attention that the Canada Revenue Agency is planning to no longer classify Postdoctoral Fellows as students and therefore will instruct universities to no longer issue T2202A forms to these individuals.
This will result in a significant increase in the amount of tax that Postdocs have to pay.
I agree that the Canada Revenue Agency should consider post doctoral fellows as students and that postdoctoral fellows should receive T2202A forms from the universities with which they are affiliated.
