On Remembrance Day, November 11, Canadians honour and remember our veterans, and all who served Canada during war, armed conflict and peace.
In Carleton Place, veterans and spectators will gather at the Cenotaph located on Franklin Street, for the annual Remembrance Day Ceremony.
As a sign of respect for all our fallen soldiers, the closure of all retail outlets between the hours of 8:00 am and 12:30 pm on the day of Remembrance, should become a Carleton Place bylaw.
A by-law of the Town of Carleton Place to provide for the closing of certain classes of retail business establishments for certain hours on Remembrance Day.
