A Petition to:
1. Deputy Prime Minister and Member for Alotau Open Hon. Charles Abel
2. Governor of Milne Bay Province Hon. Sir. John Luc Critten
3. Attorney General and Member for Esa'ala Open Hon. Steve Davis

We call for:
1. Immediate review on the activity on Sec 11 Lot 04 Alotau Town, the block opposite the Provincial Government building where a red fence has been erected.
2. Take necessary action to protect the land and provincial interests.

Background:
Following approval by the Milne Bay Provincial Physical Planning Board some years ago for a sub-division, National Housing Commission did not progress the subdivision. Early in 2015 the Secretary for Justice and Attorney General approached the Milne Bay Provincial Government for land to build a law and justice sector complex. Our provincial lands division then surveyed and immediately progressed the documentation for the sub-division on the understanding that NHC would provide some land for government business which includes the Department of Justice and Attorney General and an earlier request by Alotau District for an Administration Building. The files were awaiting surrender of head title by NHC for the process to be concluded when it was learnt that three titles were issued and transferred a week later to a foreign company of Asian origin. A formal complaint was lodged with NHC by the provincial government and Department of Lands on the matter. followed. As of Saturday 28th October there has begun the erection of a red steel cladding fence on the land and this petition urges the immediate review of this activity.

We, the undersigned, call on the Deputy Prime Minister and Member for Alotau Open Hon. Charles Abel, the Governor of Milne Bay Province Hon. Sir. John Luc Critten and the Attorney General and Member for Esa'ala Open Hon. Steve Davis to IMMEDIATELY REVIEW the activity on Sec 11 Lot 04 Alotau Town, the block opposite the Provincial Government building where a red fence has been erected and take necessary action to protect the land and the interests of the province and the people of Milne Bay.
