Return Confession to its place of importance in the ordinary life of every Catholic person
- Target:
- Catholic Bishops Conference
- Region:
- Ireland
Since the revolt against Humanae Vitae by Priests and Bishops whereby they proclaim the natural Conscience to be supreme to the taught truth of the Catholic Church, many ordinary Catholics have lost faith in Confession and so priests withdrew their availability to attend at set times in the week in the local Church.
There are calls for renewal in our Church but few calls to follow the Scriptural renewal, 'to repent and be converted'.
This is a call on all Bishops to encourage priests to make themselves available in their local Churches for a period of at least an hour on Saturday mornings.
Failing a positive response from the Bishops, the call is to all Priests to respond on their own initiative and return Confession to its place of importance in the ordinary life of every Catholic person in our communities.
