The TN Senate

United States of America

The American Indian is a person with an identity. The use of the American Indian Mascot is suggesting otherwise, and is being blantenly used for entertainment purposes at the expense of a whole culture.

The drum beats, songs, chants, paint, regailia, and dances are sacred and hold special meaning that are not meant to be paraded for show.

The TN Senate has passed a bill prohibiting agencies to ban the use of Native Mascots.

We, the undersigned, call on the TN Senate to eliminate the bill prohibiting agencies to ban the use of Native Mascots.

I recognize the use of Native Mascots as being disrespectful and degrading.

I believe a bill banning agencies from the ability to eliminate the use of Native names and mascots, in any system, is violating human rights.
