There was a pond across from Waterworks Park that has been around for at least 45 years. This pond has been the site of the city's annual kids trout derby, as well as a very nice place for kids to fish. After a very hard rain, the pond overflowed it's banks, and flowed into the park, creating a bit of a mess.

The overflow was caused by drains that are never cleaned out by the city being clogged. So instead of just cleaning the drains or replacing them, the city took out the dam, thereby eliminating the pond.

It is our contention that by replacing the existing drains with more modern ones, and replacing the dam with one 1 foot lower than the original, all flood dangers would be eliminated, and the kids (and parents) could have the pond back.

We, the undersigned, call on the city of Cuyahoga Falls to replace the existing drains pertaining to the pond across from Waterworks Park, and to provide a new dam in order to restore the pond to its original state.
