Aston Rowant Cricket Club have proposed a new proposed pavilion (approx 65metres long and nearly 8m high) with indoor cricket school, new main car park and removal of four trees along the Moors footpath linking Kingston Blount and Aston Rowant.
SODC Reference: P16/S0894/FUL
We strongly object.
We strongly object to ARCC's proposal for a new cricket pavilion and parking lots.
The design, size, scale and placement of this development would negatively impact on the rural character of the surrounding countryside and footpath, which links the villages of Kingston Blount and Aston Rowant. It would severely limit the amount of light reaching the footpath and the large carpark bordering the path would also change the nature of the setting, and could be a safety hazard to children.
The industrial style of the building is not fitting for a village cricket club and it would block off the open nature of the countryside along the footpath and create unwanted light, and noise disturbance in a quiet rural setting.
This proposal, in our opinion contravenes planning policies: R4, G2, G4, C9, EP3, D2, R1, R8 and A2 as stated in the Aston Rowant Parish Council Planning Committee Response to SODC on this application.
