Request that our Malaysian school syllabus include FREE computer science
- Target:
- MOE Malaysia Ministry of Education
- Region:
- Malaysia
We, parents of students from SJKC Puay Chai 2 in Bandar Utama, would like to request that our Malaysian school syllabus include FREE computer science curriculum. We are against any compulsory fees-paying classes conducted during normal school hours as per MOE guideline and stipulation. This petition is raised in order to prevent the school authorities, PIBG or any related party or personnel to exploit on parents' hard earned money thereby turning government subsidized schools such as SJKC Puay Chai 2 into a profit-gaining institution for personal interest other than the interest of our children. Any extra fees-based class or curriculum currently not within our national education syllabus should be considered optional but not made compulsory for students or parents, and only conducted after normal school hours. In line with the goals as outlined in the Malaysian Education Blueprint 2013-2025 to cultivate and nurture ICT knowledge in our children, computer science classes ought to be included and embedded within our national education curriculum.
We hope that government schools such as SJKC Puay Chai 2 will continue to provide free education to students of all ages and background so than they can have equal opportunity to receive basic education as well as learn and develop IT knowledge and skills. We wish for the school to be a conducive and healthy learning environment free from any politicized agendas by the school authorities, PIBG or any 3rd party companies a loopholes to transform the schools into business or commercial platforms that exploits parents' money for their personal interests instead of our children's, thereby any fees-paying or tuition should be given as optional & not made compulsory for students or parents, and only conducted after normal school hours.
