THE BRONX - Family and friends of the man killed by a tow truck hope another family never has to live the nightmare they are living right now.
Jose Torres, 57, was killed oct,10,2013 by a tow truck at East 181st Street and Southern Boulevard. Witnesses say two tow trucks had a red light but came around a bend and did not stop. They say Torres, who was known as the mayor in his area, had the right of way.
Torres' sister says the trucks were speeding and the drivers took his life senselessly.
