In the 1930s, when congress decided to restrict machinegun ownership, they added short barreled rifles & shotguns and suppressors apparently as an afterthought. Short Barreled rifles and shotguns are no more dangerous or powerful than long barreled ones. In fact they are less powerful because some of the powder is still unburnt when the bullet or shot leaves the barrel. This is a dumb law that occasionally gets someone who is not so good at measuring into trouble when they haven't even hurt anyone. This law has been on the books too long, and it's time to repeal it.
Restrictions and taxes on Short barreled rifles and shotguns serve no purpose but to be an annoyance to gun owners and to raise money at the expense of gun owners. We want these restrictions and taxes repealed.
