King Leopold abused the rights of Congolese civils for decades and this is all well documented with details of how he ordered a variety of human rights abuses. It's an historical insult and symbol of colonial abuse and imperialism which should not be honored by anyone.
We the undersigned ask that his statue be removed as he was not worthy to be honored and remembered in this manner.
After all the abuse he heaped upon Congo and its citizens it's inappropriate he is commemorated in this manner.
We ask that it be taken down.
