On the 20th of January 2019 a monument to Mikhaeı Avagyan- participant of Karabakh war and one of the executioners of Khojali genocide against peaceful Azerbaijani people-was erected in the Georgian region of Samtskhe-Javakheti, an area predominantly inhabited by Armenians. Unveiling the monument specially on the National Mourning day of all Azerbaijanis-commemoration day of victims of 20 January 1990 is for sure purposely planned by armenians to provoke local Azerbaijani citizens of Georgia against Georgian government, by this harming stability in the country and damaging the strategic partnership of Tbilisi and Baku.
We undersigned call on Georgian government and people to take immediate measures against violation of neutrality principles, and keep equality to all citizens of Georgia by preventing humiliation of ethnic Azerbaijani citizens of Georgia. We call on removal of the monument to Mikhael Avagyan-monument to armenian murder of azerbaijanis in Georgia?!
