Existing skate park on North edge of park caused numerous complaints of noise and anti-social behaviour.
With no planning permission required and a deeply flawed and limited consultation process, the skate park has been expanded and relocated to the centre of the only open space, destroying the character of the park and already resulting in the spread of anti-social behaviour, broken glass, litter and vandalism.
Users of the park no longer feel comfortable using the park. Large area available at Kingsway would be ideal for skate park failing that there is a much better location within Davyhulme Park which meets all criteria but doesn't ruin the park for everyone else.
We the undersigned urge Trafford Council to relocate the skate park, ideally to Kingsway or Golden Hill Park, at the very least to a site adjacent to the community centre, running lengthways along the existing hedge within Davyhulme Park, allowing the precious and much used open space to be retained for the use and enjoyment of all members of the public.
