SUMMARY: An Animal control officers in Brainerd, MN for found cats and dogs to be picked up by animal control, or community service officers, and be safe off the streets and from danger until the animals family is found or put up for adoption. I am a concerned resident of Brainerd who cares about the welfare/safety of cats and dogs in the area.
I and former community service officers tried for over a year to catch a feral cat that was hanging around and hunting around my house. When I did coax it into my laundry room I found out there no longer was animal control. I called the police and the officer said there were hundreds already running loose and to just release it. I said, 'You mean you want me to release a sick feral male cat?' He said, 'Yes!' I had to force the cat into a carrier and take it on a bus to HART animal shelter. That's just one - how about the other hundred running loose and reproducing.
