It has come to our attention that Ms. Tracie Ivey was relieved from duty as the Recreation Superintendent of Douglas County, Georgia on Friday, July 19, 2019, after many years of faithful service to the families of our community. This comes as a big shock to anyone who knows her and has witnessed the dedication she had for her work and the passion she demonstrated.

Ms. Ivey has been a loyal and trusted community servant and has spent most of her tenured career at Douglas County. Her dedication to our community and influence in the lives of our children is immeasurable. Ms. Ivey has spearheaded youth sport programs, facilitated opportunities for our special needs population, tirelessly supported the humane society, and poured her heart into the Relay for Life, Boys and Girls Club, and countless other community-based services. Ms. Ivey has touched the lives of thousands of Douglas County children and families through her kindness and compassion. She can often be found lining fields, preparing schedules, hosting fundraisers, or preparing celebrations for various groups in Douglas County. Without her to support our youth sports teams, our Special Olympics, our furry friends at the Humane Society, and our non-profits, our community will suffer.
