Folks - thank you so much for indicating your support. The completed petition will now be sent on to Lynn Greene as a formal proposal for Assembly, with you all as signatories along with me. That ensures that it will be discussed at Council. I'll post outcomes to the Facebook groups where this has been discussed.
In past years a printed Directory has been produced as a resource for the Baptist constituency in the UK. It has helped enable good communications and fostered the building of links between those engaged in a wide range of ministries. While a printed Directory may be an expensive way of distributing such information, we believe that there are other options for the dissemination of such information.
We believe that such information should be available widely within our community, and as a start the resolution below is intended to encourage the production of a resource available to all Regional Teams, Ministers (both local Church and Sector) and local Church Officers.
This Assembly believes that an accurate and up to date Directory, containing contact information relating to Churches in fellowship with the Union, Ministers accredited by the Union, Sector Ministries, Regional Associations and Colleges, and Officers and Departments of the Union, is an essential resource enabling better communication and more effective relationships across our Union.
We request that Council investigate as a matter of importance ways in which this information could be made available to all Regional Teams, Ministers and local Church Officers.
