The Ministry of Overseas Indians Affairs (MOIA-Pravaasikaarya Manthralaya) was formed a decade ago by Union Government of India, after lot of petitions, memos, agitations and struggles by Non Resident Indian community, especially by Indian expatriates organizations in GCC countries.

It is unfortunate to know that the Government has announced closure of the Ministry and decided to merge it with Ministry of External Affairs, as on 7th January 2016.

Noting that the Ministry had many hiccups and failures in resolving many concerns and issues of the Nonresident Indian Community, especially blue collar expatriates. However this shall not be attributed for the closure of the Ministry. We express our strong protest on this action by the Government.

We humbly request to reinstate the Ministry and strengthen it to make effective enough to cater the needs of Indian diaspora of 2.4 cores which include more than 55 lakhs of nonresident Indians in GCC countries.

We the undersigned request the reinstatement of the Ministry of Overseas Indians Affairs (Pravaasikaarya Manthraalaya) by the Government of India.

We the undersigned request Government of India to reinstate Ministry of Overseas Indians Affairs (Pravaasikaarya Manthraalaya).
