Reinstate Jon Anstett as STMA CE Gymnastics Coordinator

All parents acknowledged below would like to petition for the reinstatement of Jon Anstett as the CE Gymnastics Coordinator of the STMA gymnastics program.

The following are reasons why we feel so strongly that Jon Anstett should be reinstated as the STMA Gymnastics CE Coordinator.

1) Jon is and has always been a "coach" in every sense of the word, as he provides the physical strength needed to "spot" each child when they are performing new or difficult skills and he also has the amazing teaching ability to increase their gymnastics skills on a regular basis.

2) Jon motivates the children in so many ways by always reminding them to practice the right form and making them aware of their own strength and confidence, which promotes safety. The safety of the children has been one of Jon's main focuses.

3) Jon has always displayed such kindness to the children, yet is also strict enough to help them move forward and excel. Again, he motivates them without pushing too hard.

4) The children "trust" Jon and his ability to be there for their safety and also to show them the skills they need to move up to the next level.

5) Jon has been with many of the team girls since their early years and his termination will seriously affect their abilities and willingness to continue participation in the STMA gymnastics program.

6) Jon has a strong gymnastics coaching background for the past 20+ years and has taught decades of children during his time with the STMA program. He has brought the STMA gymnastics program to a level where we could be competitive with other private gymnastics clubs. This past 2009-2010 competition season has proven that superior level with trophies. This program is so unique in the quality of training it provides and has been viewed by many other communities as exceptional, which is why we have so many that participate outside of Saint Michael.

7) Jon has always given 110% dedication to his position as “coach” and to the children he teaches. He is always there working actively with them during practice and is willing to stay extra time to work with them when needed. He IS an essential piece of the STMA gymnastics program and is needed for the programs future success.
