COST; The cost of detaining a convicted murderer, as opposed to eliminating a convicted murderer. If one were to sit down and calculate item by item, one would conclude that capital punisment is more cost effective.
CONVICTING THE INNOCENT; Sadly history will always show that some innocent people were wrongly tried, convicted and with great shame wrongly executed. However we are now in the 21st century and with present technology and redundancy checks and failsafes the innocent will not be executed.
SANCTITY OF LIFE; The value of life is appreciated by those who appreciate the value of life. NOTE: A broad brush can not be applied here, meaning there are grey areas, such as crimes of passion, protection of life and property, accidents and maybe more. By keeping this in mind and combining it with today's advanced forensic technology the innocent can not be convicted
We, the undersigned, agree it is time to overturn the ruling on banning the death penalty, that after considering the total amount of property damaged, the total number of people who - by no fault of there own - have had the remainder of their lives unalterably changed, and by no means last or least, the total number of people murdered since the ban, we seek the reinstitution of the death penalty and see it as a useful deterrent against senseless violent crimes.
