Regulating Gas Safety in the UK needs a comprehensive review. Over the years, lack of paying attention to enforcing legislation in Gas industry has led us into a situation where the number of illegal Gas works have arisen to alarming levels.
Quoting from the regulator’s own statistics, today over 250,000 illegal gas works take place in the UK per year.
This coupled with a lack of creating Gas Safety awareness at a national level has led us, the Gas Engineers who front this industry, to a state of disillusion and dismay.
We, the undersigned, call on the Government to review the current legislation in Gas Safety and to reassess the current setup of the regulatory system.
