I propose that our local IGA South Fremantle store introduces a 10 cent levy on plastic bags to reduce plastic bag use. With the money collected going to a local charity.
If our State and Federal Governments won’t make plastic bags history, let’s take the initiative to make it happen ourselves!
The Margaret River IGA has introduced this policy with great success and they now charge 10 cents for plastic bags and have removed them from the checkouts. The money collected goes to local charities.
Let’s follow lead in this significant and courageous step – It can EASILY be done! Many Thanks.
