Our aim is to reasses the definition of 'black' and the synonyms associated with it. The definition of black in the Concise Oxford dictionary is as follows:
2. dark skinned pertaining to Negroes.. 3. deadly, sinister, wicked, hateful; dismal (black despair); angry, sulky, threatening; (black looks); implying disgrace or condemnation'.

Synonyms associated with the word 'black' are angry, hopeless, evil, unfortunate, disastrous, calamitous, disgraceful, grim and the list goes on.

To make matters worse some synonyms associated with the word 'white' are as 'pure, good and clean'. It is important to stress that this is not a battle against races but a battle against oppression and inequality. Any human being regardless of color deserves to be free or aided in achieving liberation for the sole benefit of justice.

This situation and evidence can only strengthen the argument that instilling these terms and definitions root deep into such a universal language is not in the interest of the common good but fueled by inherent racism; segregation and the degradation of an entire race and it is highly imperative that this injustice is adequately addressed as it is unacceptable and cannot continue in order to ensure equality among the human race.

Considering this was couched within such a universal language is shocking but there is no time to dwell on the past though it must not be overlooked, the most important factor now is the future.

We, the undersigned, call on the UN to aid in the re definition of 'black' and the synonyms associated with it as it is highly unacceptable especially considering the fact that these terms are being taught to children and used freely in society without anyone actually realizing that it is inherently racist and degrading in nature.

There is hardly anything associated with the word 'black' that is ;positive for example; the black market, black sheep, blacklist, black books; the list is endless and not only does it permit other races to become unconsciously racist; it also unconsciously makes people of black origin feel they are worth less than others as they are taught the same language which is spoken world wide.

It is a dire state of events that anyone fighting for liberation cannot allow to continue and as a result this must be addressed.
