The Horry County Humane Society has been shut down for several weeks and the board has no set time to re-open. (It was closed due to an airborn virus called distemper.)
The kennels have been thoroughly cleaned multiple times within the past few weeks and has been ready to open for that amount of time, but, for some reason the board of directors for the shelter is still refusing to re-open.
In the meantime, all of the employees have their hours cut and the most important thing, there are homeless animals running on the streets hungry, starving, freezing, and being run over by cars.
The shelter needs to be re-opened immediately to get these poor, innocent animals to a warm place where they can be fed and nurtured to restore their health to find a wonderful home.
We, the undersigned, call to the board of directors of the Horry County Humane Society to re-open the shelter in order to save the unsheltered, malnutritioned, and cold animals.
No innocent creature deserves to freeze or starve due to ignorant people in charge. With the signing of this, a small donation would be greatly appreciated, even if it is change, to help the shelter the supplies on the wish list.
