This petition has been raised in light of the recently leaked NHS report which indicates that up to 6 Accident and Emergency Units (A&E) in North West London could be threatened with closure. Reports state that due to the £5 billion NHS London funding deficit, Ealing Hospital may not only lose it’s A&E, but also its maternity unit and children’s services department, compound our fears for the future of the hospital.
These plans will inevitably lead to elderly and infirm patients having to travel further to access essential health care. We have already seen Ealing Hospital’s Stroke Unit axed. With these other services threatened, there are serious concerns over the future of Ealing Hospital itself.
We call on NHS London to keep the A&E unit at Ealing Hospital and to stop running down the vital services we depend on.
