Two months ago, a billboard company removed a non-conforming billboard structure from the rooftop of Smart Cube Storage located at 400 N. 5th Street.

The billboard company replaced the original sign with a digital billboard, whose bright, flashing messages change up to 10,000 times daily and can be seen from residences in Society Hill, Old City, and Callowhill neighborhoods.

The sign also can be seen from various parts of the Independence National Historic District, a United Nations World Heritage Site.

The Zoning Board Hearing is scheduled for next Wednesday July 25th at 2 o’clock. If you oppose the conversion of this sign to digital please add your name to this petition and we will submit it to the zoning board at that time. You can also write a letter directly to the Zoning Board of Adjustments 1401 JFK Blvd 11th Floor Phila, PA 19103.

We, the undersigned, request that the Philadelphia Zoning Board of Adjustment reverse the granting of the permit allowing the conversion of a static billboard located at 400 N. 5th Street to a digital format sign.
