Prohibit associates and partners of lobby law firms from serving in your state legislature

Most agree attorney/legislators should not use their public office to influence legislation by voting on issues on which their law firm is lobbying. That is the rule in all states and the American Bar Association.
There are unlimited other ways those legislators can ethically, legally and more effectively influence legislation. Abstaining from voting is a drop in the bucket in comparison and is just a feel good policy.
Sign this petition if you want your state legislator to represent your interest and not the special interests of the lobby law firms he/she works for.
We, the undersigned, call on our state Bar Association to adopt an ethics rule that prohibits state legislative lobby law firms from employing attorney legislators.
