Prioity Car Park Spaces for Expectant Mothers; Baby Bump Spaces

Our Supermarkets provide priority car park spaces for those needing more room to enter and exit their motor vehicles across the UK. Currently these spaces are allocated to those holding a 'UK disability badge' and to 'Parent and Toddler' commuters.

Being a mother of two, with a baby on the way I frequently make use of the 'Parent and Toddler' spaces (when my toddler son is present). However, in recent months and as my baby bump grows rapidly, I have found myself trapped when using the 'normal' car park spaces provided in various leading supermarket stores. Allowing room on each side of the vehicle is essential when trying to enter/exit the car with a baby bump restricting abilities. There have been many occasion where I have had to climb in the car from an alternative entering side to enable access to my car through way of another driver parking too close to my vehicle.

Not only I have found it difficult, I have found the ordeal rather stressful to say the least. On one occasion I found myself parking in the 'Parent and Toddler' bay to prevent such an occurrence happening again, which resulted in verbal abuse from another customer wanting that specific car park space.

I feel that I am not alone in this restriction and call upon all Leading UK supermarkets to include expectant mothers in their priority car park spaces.
