An amendment to the Bedford Municipal Planning Strategy is being proposed by a developer (reference HRM Case# 17489) that would permit multiple unit apartment buildings to be constructed at 82, 88, and 92 Dartmouth Road. These properties lie between Ridgevale Drive and Brentwood Ave (see reverse).

The Bedford Municipal Planning Strategy has protected these neighbourhoods as RSU (residential single unit) with other areas of Bedford (e.g. Larry Uteck Blvd.) identified for the high density residential / commercial development.

Concerned citizens of Bedford have started a petition that will go before the North West Planning Advisory Committee and the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) Council to oppose this amendment to the Bedford Municipal Planning Strategy as we believe that the amendment will negatively affect Bedford and the communities surrounding Dartmouth Road.

We the citizens of Bedford and HRM who have signed this petition request that the North West Planning Advisory Committee and the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) Council deny the amendment to the Bedford Municipal Planning Strategy proposed by Mr. Bill Fenton that would permit multiple unit apartments be constructed at 82, 88, and 92 Dartmouth Road.

Allowing the amendment will negatively affect Bedford and the communities surrounding Dartmouth Road.
