WWE have signed a 10 year deal with the Saudi Government to run house shows for them.
In light of the murder of news journalist, Jamal Khashoggi, who had previously voiced his opinions against the Saudi regime I believe that WWE should rethink their deal with them.
At present, WWE are going ahead with the pay-per-view, despite the discomfort that the performers and fans have displayed about the whole situation, and I find it appalling that there hasn’t been more pressure put on World Wrestling Entertainment and the McMahons to cancel, or at the very least move the location of the Pay-per-view. The women’s Pay-per-view Evolution, the week before the planned Saudi event, is a PR move to soften the blow that women can’t wrestle in Saudi Arabia. I think that WWE is being very hypocritical and are helping the Saudi Government legitimise their horrific human rights record.
